2018 is the year in which world celebrates deafblindness (on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of Helen Keller). For this purpose, on June 5th 2018, in co-operation with colleagues from other political groups, Mrs. Helga Stevens (ECR), Mr. Ádám Kósa (EPP), Mr Ivica Tolić (EPP) and MS Dubravka Šuica (EPP), European Deafblind Union (EDbU) and European Deafblind Network (EDbN) is organising thematic conference on deafblindness, which will, among others, gather the most important European decision makers. It would be an honour and a privilege to have you present to witness this, for our future, historical and critical moment together with us.
Given the importance that equal and active inclusion of persons with deafblindness – as important stakeholders in shaping and implementing the European Union policy – the principal aim of the Conference is adoption of the Resolution On Professional Deafblind Interpreters/ Intervenors and Equal Access to Communication for Persons with Deafblindness in Europe.
